took my hub caps to a pro to clean up "buff"I thought they were stainless but their not.They are stainless with a nickle coating that is why they don't shine like chrome when you rub on them.The pro can rub on them till the coating of nickle is off than they will shine like chrome.Not original sorry.Just FYI.No reply needed

Stainless with a chrome coating, not nickle.

You're buffing off a thin chrome coating and showing the stainless underneath. There are places that will be able to restore them with chrome.

Judges will be able to tell by the color that the chrome is now missing.
