C-1 1959 Casting Dates

During normal assembly would the engine casting date be about the same as the transmission casting date as well as other components build dates, starters, generators, manifolds? Thanks, Jimmy

There was a lot of variation, but most components were dated within a month or two prior to the car's final assembly date, and engine plant-installed parts were dated prior to the engine assembly date on the front pad. Recognizing that inventory controls were very poor in those days, NCRS allows up to six months prior for dated components.
