    C1 Rear End Gears

Does any one know where I can get a set of 3:08 gears for a 62? Either new or a good used set? Tried Summit Racing and a few other vendors with no luck.

Try Chevy suppliers to Chevy clubs

Did you have a particular supplier in mind. I've tried most of the racing vendors, the gear vendors, etc. Didn't think that it would be this hard.

Tom's Differentials www.tomsdifferentials.com has what you seek. Most suppliers sell the Richmond Gear product line only. I don't think that Richmond Gear currently makes a 3.08:1 gearset for these units. So, that's why they're hard to find.

However, Tom's carries U.S. Gear gearsets for C1's (same as 55-64 passenger). U.S. Gear does make 3.08:1. Tom's is one of the few that carries the U.S. Gear product. That's good, too; U.S. Gear makes the best gearsets and the most similar to the long-discontinued GM gears. I prefer U.S. Gear to any other brand currently on the market.

Why? Yours was an excellent suggestion; I was just providing an alternate source if, for some reason, Randy's didn't have it (or, was out-of-stock). I just checked Randy's web-site and they do have it. However, they do not specify the brand but it's likely U.S. Gear or Zoom.
