i wanted to finally start my rebuilt L72 tommorrow but when i went to install the oil filter diverter could not find the gasket. is this some thing that would cause an issue? or do i need to wait until i can have one shipped? thought i had it all covered, not that you would know by my rotation question. i run 4 buisinesses and by the end of the day i am spent.

I don't know what an "oil filter diverter" is. However, if you're talking about the oil filter ADAPTER (the piece that bolts to the block and contains the bypass valve), there was no gasket used between the adapter and the block for 1966. A gasket was added in mid-1967, though. No gasket is really required. However, if you want to add one, one can easily be made-up from gasket stock.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

i did not think i saw it in the AIM but then saw it in paragon after i put it together. if it is not required i will not add it. while i am here does the valve face the motor? i was told it did not matter. thanks,bill- Top
