    Mr. Art Armstrong

    Art:

No idea what your schedule for return to MI is, but I know you monitor this board, so...

In going through some of the Russ Sanders "stuff", I note that the June 1955 issue of the Engineering News refers to him as a "boater" and talks of his ownership of a 40 foot CrisCraft moored at some marina "on the Detroit River". Is there any way of finding this boat/club?

Loren, We won't be home until late April..............I love being retarded!

I don't know about finding Russ's boat, but I just got a lead on the whereabouts of Zora's cruiser, which I have been looking for for years. I know it had some VERY well built BB that were maintained, on a regular basis, by some of the motor room guys. I'm sure it was a "tuff' assignment, but someone had to do it!

Anyway, do you know more about the boat, club or marina?

Loren, I would think the marina was most likely the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, which is still in existance. But I could be wrong. FWIW. Dave

I think you're correct. It's near where Zora's home is (a couple of blocks away), and I believe it's named in the Zora book.

The other possiblity is the Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle

True, but the Grosse Pointe one is so close to his former house that it wouldn't make much sense.

                  Loren,

are you looking for a Russ Sanders? If so send me a PM and I can make some inquiries. I belong to Bayview Yacht Club and know a lot of the boaters in the area.

                  George
