Who can rebuild my original 66 corvette calipers? My car has been sitting since 1980 and has its born with calipers, I would like to have them rebuilt and not exchanged. I check Lone Star Calipers website and it looks like they only do wholesale. Any recommendations or good experiences, thanks in advance

Re: C2 caliper rebuilding?
Brian,
I had the original, first series, calipers for my '65 rebuilt by Lone Star a couple of years ago. I haven't put fluid in the system and blead them yet, so I can't comment on the successfulness. Lone Star also rebuilt my original power steering cylinder.
Give Ken a call at Lone Star. I think that they can help you. When I was looking for a rebuilder, L.S. was one of the few places that would rebuild the first series calipers. Others want to machine the alignment post out of the caliper and convert them to the later version.
Good luck with your '66 restoration.
Regards,
Gene- Top

Re: C2 caliper rebuilding?
Vette Brakes has done them for my 71 as well as our 66 project. They've done a great job in sending back our original calipers as well as rebuilding them to as-delivered configuration.
See link below to their correct-for-66 pistons

Re: C2 caliper rebuilding?
I'm relatively sure we did a few years back when we had the 66 brakes redone.
I can't recall their answer.
