i need help in locating a relay switch for my alarm system on my 69. i have checked with my local chevy part;s guy,napa auto parts and several repo parts venders, with no luck.thank;s in advanced for your help.david

The relay you require, GM #1115878, was discontinued 16 years ago without supercession. So, the supply has probably pretty much "dried up" by now. It is a difficult-to-locate piece.
One possibility for a FUNCTIONAL replacement: the GM #1115878 was a 3 terminal relay. It was used through E1977. For later 1977 onward, a relay with 4 terminals was used. That relay, GM #356284, is still available from GM. It MIGHT, and I stress MIGHT, be possible to use this relay utilizing only 3 of the 4 terminals. Of course, if it is possible, you'd need to know which ones to use and I don't have a clue.In Appreciation of John Hinckley -

I should also have mentioned that if you currently have a relay but it's not working, it may be possible to repair it. You can carefully remove the cover and inspect the innerds for correctable problem areas. Of course, if you don't have one, at all, this won't do you much good.In Appreciation of John HinckleyComment
