      Well,

I had my original redone many years ago, by replating the metal parts. It came back with no glass, of course, but any decent glass shop should be able to make a round mirror glass that's a nice tight fit, and secure it with a hidden bead of silicone.

          Re: RESTORATION OF OUTSIDE MIRROR

Lars-Erik, I almost agree with Dr. Mike. First time. My 63 has a NOS long base mirror. We put it on day before the car was judged. Got a one point deduct because judge didn't like the looks of the glass. It came from an old green and beige box. Correct thin RUBBER gasket also. Anyhow lost one point. So when I signed the sheets I asked the very nice judge how much would I have lost if I had left the pretty repro on with correctly dated glass. Remember that deal Jimmy??? He said one point. So....
