    63 horn restoration

I am planning to restore my dated 63 horns. The the suppliers of kits state, that the kits cover 64 or later versions, but not 63.
What is the difference ? Does anybody carry 63 horn kits ?

        Mikie is right again.

Ron did my 63 horns and I'm very pleased. Don't know if he sells kits, but for the price he charged to rebuild them it wasn't worth my trouble.

        VERY reasonable indeed.

I did the same that you are doing,,, and rec'd several recommendations for Ron from this site. Was super pleased!! Very competitive, excellent quality, turn around was less than a month. He knows the product and several judges stated they have trouble detecting his work. As a previous post said,,,, his work was so good and priced right,,,, it just wasn't worth the time nor could a novice duplicate the quality.

The 63 only horns are MUCH bigger than the 64 up. One year item...nobody makes a kit.

That being said, it's tough for the average guy to rebuild a horn. Not only do you have to check the coil electrically, but you also have to "tune" the diaphragm.

This is accomplished by serial tightening of the rivets...like tuning a snare drum.

Send it to Ron Goralski. 410-987-1948

Ron lives in Millersville, Maryland, South of Baltimore. Chuck

Hello Chuck, I have been in touch with Ron Goralski.
I opened-up one horn, looks ugly inside. Rusted but the coil apears OK, but needs to be checked, is still OK.
Both horns still "worked", but need new diapgragms for sure...
