    69 427 with A/C overflow tank

Should a 69 427 with A/C car have a radiator overflow tank? This car has factory A/C that has been removed. I'm in the process of putting the A/C back on and an overflow tank that is not original is were the A/C compressor goes now. Should I be looking for original style tank or did it not have one. If it did have one is it smaller than a small block one or just a different style than small block. Thanks! Jeff

    Jeff-----

It should definitely have an external radiator supply tank. For 1969 big blocks with C-60, the tank was a brass, "cylindrical" tank very different in configuration from the aluminum tank used for non-C-60 big blocks and some small blocks. Unfortunately, it is not, as far as I know, reproduced and finding a good used one can be very expensive.

I think that Dewitts has a repo now.
I happen to have a couple of these, so if you will let me know the date you need, maybe I have one for you.

          Mark -

Tom made one in brass and posted a photo of it here about six months or so ago to see if there was enough interest in that unique tank to justify the cost of tooling it up; haven't heard anything since, so the equation apparently didn't make sense.

If I remember correctly, he posted that the brass would cost too much to make and was planning to make the ones to sell in aluminum. I thought he more recently announced that the aluminum ones were available - who knows?

If he is making aluminum repro you could get it brass plated.
