Re: Spark Plug Cleaners
Jimmy, I have used them for years primarily for my own vehicles. They can do a pretty good job of removing light fouling to extend plug life. They require some practice to get the proper operation. I was always paranoid about the glass beading residue or particles getting in the cylinder on the cleaned plug so I used to spend a lot of time making sure the dust was off of the cleaned plugs before reinstalling them. They will not cure worn electrodes.

Re: Spark Plug Cleaners
Yes! have used my original plugs in my 55 now for years , just remove and clean as long as the tips are OK, no reason to stop doing it she runs great, it's the plug wires that go bad.
This is a sign many shops hung out saying they cleaned plugs and the AC cleaner they used. I like collecting AC stuff.

Re: Spark Plug Cleaners
Man...that's squeezing your spark plug nickel till the buffalo screams. Roy, I figure you still have a few nickels with buffaloes on them...those C6 bling merchants over on CF should care of that.
How far we've come...nowadays I figure the electronics repair threshold must be if replacement cost exceeds about $500...less than that, and you should just pitch it and get a new one.- Top

Re: Spark Plug Cleaners
Oh come on I'm from the old school a penny saved is a penny earned, I have many NOS correct plugs for the 55 but till they wear I clean the plugs . About the CF I go to C6 because many are smart and know how to fix that (Computer) on four wheels I drive around. Tho it's been great with no problems= I Love it! The C1 forum is mostly for C2's not many are working on C1's or for that matter here ether !
I guess there is no reason for a C1 forum no one there! See! your working on a 70, the C1 world is mostly over , most stored in trailers now days! There are a few crazy's like me still driving one.- Top

Re: Spark Plug Cleaners
Jimmy....those cleaners are on sale at Harbor Freight right now for $9.99 and about $7.00 shipping, so I wouldn't get crazy on bidding. If you have a blast cabinet, you might to want try what I did as I have one of those units. I took a piece of aluminum and drilled 8 holes in it to thread the plugs in. I like it much better than that one at a time unit. I can see whats going with each plug and also I've got the whole set in my hand at one time...Regards Frank- Top
