C2 bolt-on wheels

I'm again trying for the dumbest question of the year. How do you take off the center starburst part of '67 bolt-on wheels? I'm replacing tires and don't want to assume that you just pry them off with something. Anything special I need to know about removal/installation? Thanks.

I use a long screwdriver and pry the inside of the starburst against the retaining ring that's mounted to the wheel. Extra care is required to avoid damage to the external finish.

I use a seal puller - the "hawk bill" on one end grabs under the edge, and the other end (with a rag to protect the wheel) provides great leverage - pops them right off.

Yup - very common tool.
