    69 435 hp verification

looking at a 69 427 435hp car, no paperwork as per owner, any way to verify that the car was a 435 hp car, does not have the original block in the car
heads are rectangle port heads, has features would indicate a big block car,
has a 435hp console plate, appears to be a low milage unrestored interior?????? has the high hood, but not a press mold hood, unable to see a tank sticker and can not remove tank until i own it!!!!!! frame is very clean as well as radiator
support and windshield frame, body gaps not to bad, no major repairs some minor
price is $14000.00 maybe should own it anyway?????
    thanks for input!

    Re: 69 435 hp verification

Needs to have the correct tach red line, rear sway bar, and I believe it should have a single gas line running from the gas tank, just for starters. If the car is in rough condition, I would think it more believable. Some type of owner history would be nice. Someone else can comment on the correct radiator and overflow tank. Terry

      Re: 69 435 hp verification

COULD SOME ONE VERIFY THE CORRECT REDLINE FOR THE 435HP AND DO OTHER HP RATINGS HAVE THE SAME REDLINE FOR 69, DOES HAVE THE REAR SWAY BAR ON THE CAR, SHOWS LESS THAN 40M MILES WITH MINIMAL WEAR ON THE BRAKE AND CLUTCH PEDAL, APPEARS TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL LEATHER SEAT COVERS???????

          gear ratio too

If it has a date code correct FB (4.10:1 ratio) it's more likely original - the 4.10 was apparently not available with the hyd lifter motors, also an F41 suspension (7 leaf rear spring) was 435 HP and L88 only.
Also, 435 MUST have T.I. - so look at the front of the driver's side wheel well.

Also 27 1/2" radiator core is for big blocks only

What is the the block in the 69? It could be a CE warranty replacement. For only $14,000 no fame rot and all the other good things I would buy it if I wanted the big block 427/435. Does the transmission have original numbers?

the trans is a m-21 with a new rebuild, have not checked the numbers yet, the heads were removed last year and are retangle port heads,i'm told. will verify year & cast soon, when we remove the covers, block is a "289" cast but to404trw stamp on pad, am going back to verify rad size and mounting for BB, and try to get some numbers also checking for TI, i have a "321" IR H7, motor looking for a home just havent found the 68 yet, for $14m this may work until then

F-41 was OPTIONAL for L-71. However, it was a required option for L-88/ZL-1.
