    '63 transmission paint number

What is the proper paint to use for a '63 M-20 and bell housing?

No part of any Muncie transmission was ever originally painted. Any paint seen on the bellhousing was engine orange that "overlapped" onto the bellhousing at the time of engine painting, usually extending about 4-6 inches.

If you're talking about what paint can you use to "restore" the original appearance of the transmission and bellhousing, there is no paint that will give you an original appearance. Cast blast aluminum paint is about as close as you'll come, but it won't be all that close.
