    I have the original distributor cap and want to put this on the car.It was replaced at 24,000 miles in 1978.Just do some cleaning put it back on and if it dont miss fire I'm good to go? I just need 40 miles out of it.Also my wife wants to go to Galena ILL is there a show there?

      Clean the contacts with a tiny, brass wire wheel on a Dremel tool. It will be fine for limited use. In fact, it will likely be fine for not-so-limited use, too.

              Denny,
              If you really wanted to get technical and have a local shop with an engine scope you could check your firing KV's from one cap to the other, may be no real difference.
