do any one have a picture they can post of the RH side of a 3147 carb or one like it. it has no fast idle provision and i do not know what is missing once warmed she idles great but should idle cold as well. bill

You should see an arrangement like this - the open hole in the lever in front is where the rod connects from the manifold-mounted remote choke thermostat; that lever also sets the angle of the choke blade and operates the plastic fast idle cam behind it. You bend the tang with the screwdriver slot in it resting against the plastic cam to set the fast-idle rpm (older Holleys had a screw instead, mounted down low, to set that rpm). The photo is a '67 3810, but the choke/fast idle arrangement is the same.

is there a spring on the cam lock? there is a nub on the end behind the choke hook up plate and the white cam lock seems to just swing free. also my choke rod seems about 1/4 in short. could it be a 390 hp rod not a 425 as they look the same?bill- Top
