    accessories

Just added a new after market item from the 50's, a Bakelite vacuum to clean my 55 that runs on vacuum that's mounted on the vett heater for easy excess.(you tie it into a vacuum Line and mount it ,you turn a plastic valve to operate , it has a little bag inside to remove and empty) I get so many people asking about my accessories and things I installed as to how they work ,when did they make them , what are real GM accessories and after market items.
Just asking but are people here interested if I post one each day explaining them just for some amusement even some C2 accessories, it might be fun for older farts and bring some memories back. I'm not pushing NCRS to recognize anything , I know it's a sin! your thoughts ?

I think that the accessories from that period are cool. What better to vacuum your classic car with than a vintage vac? Nice touch!

                  Roy,

Doesn't this item pose a risk to the motor? If the bag should fail, everything you're vacuuming will end up in the intake manifold. Also, even the best of today's vacuum bags don't filter out all particulates, which is why many high-end manufacturers tout HEPA filtering technology for asthma sufferers.

I think its a great idea if you don't mind. I for one look forward to your posts, especially the one's concerning all the accessories. I also would like to know where you found them in addition to what they are for.

It's vary unlikely the bag would fail and if it did my mighty 265 engine would just eat it. I located it on e-bay.

                        Re: accessories "mike"

I found many on e-bay years ago and by old car shops around the country when we went to NY in our 55 Corvette. When it comes to a Corvette any year option or accessory I have no competition with NCRS people.

I agree with Mike, nothing like the old cleaning tools to go with the period.
Got this one with the house we bought last year. Filter Queen, complete with all the options and paperwork, and about 2 doz filters! It's vintage late 50's early 60's. It works great. Had to get the car in the picture to keep some Corvette content :-).

I like both , great pic. see you and every one has something neat and old. It's kind of nice to have things around in the garage that meets the year Corvette you own.
