    Torque Question

In reading the instructions for a recently purchased torque wrench it states "Never use this wrench to break fastenres loose"
    Why?

It also states,"Always pull-do not push-on the wrench handle"
If I am tighening whell lugs why can't I push.
    Trying to learn and understand.
    Thanks for any input.

    Re: Torque Question

the fasteners may be tighter than the rated capacity of the wrench so if you use it to "break" loose fasteners you could ruin the wrench. the push/pull thing also has me stumped because i can do see what is the difference

      Re: Torque Question

I think you have a better chance to brake your knuckles (if it slips) by pushing and have more control by pulling
