A friend of mine has a rust problem at the seat belt well beneath the seat. It looks like the removal of the corroded seat belt retractor will leave a big hole that will need to be repaired. That repair patch will have to have a nut welded on the back side for the the retractor bolt. That is, if the whole floor pan isn't replaced.
Any suggestion for a non-NCRS restoration and non-extensive/expensive but still adequate repair? What is the thickness of the metal used in the floor pans of 1976 Corvettes? Could a riveted and metal epoxy repair work here?
