    1965 Roadster vin 194675G104349

    Hi All,
I am new to all this so please bear with me. I have a 65 convertible and a 2006 coup. The 65 is my baby but needs alot of work,It runs good and is pretty tight but needs work. This ca was in an accident somewhere back in the late 60's as my brother in law has owned it since 70 and has done nothing too it. It has a 67 front end on it and not the original engine. I was told this was a big block car. Is there any way to tell? The tach redlines at 6500 and I have read this may mean it was a big block. any help for this amature would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tim

We just bought a real nice 63 convertible with nice looking 65 engine, low HP, if you need one. The car will be delivered to me this week. Just love those BJ auctions.

Tim, Check the archives. There have been many previous discussions on this subject. Also you have a great opportunity to attend the Edison NJ Regional Meet in May and learn alot more about your 65. Good luck.

Simplicity - is the battery on the driver's

side? Does it have a rear sway bar? If the answer to those 2 questions is "Yes" then it MIGHT have been a 396 and you should chase the archives, buy a 1965 Judging Manual and start highlighting. Good luck.

Vin Number To Early for Big Block

From the vin number your car was built in late Nov or early Dec of 1964. The earlest big blocks were around March of 1965. If yours has the 6500 tack and 80lb oil gauge, it was probably a 327/365hp.
              Hope this helps.

I believe that it might well have started life

as a '64; it received handlaid/created gills in the front fenders to take on the '65 style fenders. I believe my memory is correct that No other emblem holes were found in the fenders other than the holes that its handmade brass emblems that read something like:

                    "427 Turbojet

                    Mark IV"

I know that the owner told me 25 years ago that whenever the car goes anywhere, only one fender emblem is on the car - if somehow manages to steal that one, the other can serve as a model.

then removed for safekeeping. I believe used same holes as FI side emblems.

                        Hello Tim
                        The VIN you have posted has a error. The letter " G " should be a " S " .
Double check the plate under the glove box. Hopefully there is a " S ". If not you have a BIG PROBLEM now.
                        Regards,
                        Drew Papsun
