1969 - distributer hold down clamp color

    350/300hp
Was the bolt and the hold down clamp on the engine during painting?
    Thanks

        Sorry, another part orange

What about the distributor cover brackets that are orange. Were they mounted before painting or painted then attached.
        Thanks Again.

I will go out on a limb and suggest that your 69 brackets are similar to my 72. Mine are brushed and still show brush marks. I would suggest that yours are the same. Fwiw, the brushing is really sloppy and quit ugly. Typical GM I guess. It almost looks like the painter was using an old paint bucket that had sat out a little too long and the paint was starting to get just a bit thick.

'69 Z/28 spark plug wire supports (aluminum intake, Flint-built) are the same way - brush-painted orange.

As John said, with aluminum intake manifold -- brush painted, but if the intake is iron the distributor shield supports were spray painted with the engine.

If I recall correctly wording to this effect is in the TIM&JG for both 1968-69 AND 1970-1972.
