hello. i need help with the correct date code for my front windshield on my 1966 corvette coupe. the a.o.smith body build date is february 25 1966. according to the v.i.n. number the car came off the line march 4 1966. i have the following dates for the existing glass. 1) rear window may 1965 2)both vent windows december 1965 3) drivers side window october 1965 4)passenger side window december 1965 with the variance in these dates, is it possible that these are original windows? what date should the front windshield be? the new front windshield is coming from o.e.m. glass in illinois. it is supposed to be a correct replacement for the original with all the correct markings and date. any help in establishing the correct date code for the front windshield would be greatly appreciated.

Re: front windshield date code.
Brian,
All of your glass dates sound reasonable. The NCRS 66 Judging Manual says that full credit will be given if the glass dates are within one year of the build date. It also says that the windshield is typically dated 1-3 months prior to the car build date. I have a 66 coupe with a July 20 build date and my windshield is dated June '66. I think a Dec '65 or Jan '66 date for your new windshield makes sense given your build date of late February.
