Somewhere I think I heard or read that there is no brake pedal return spring inside the pedal swing housing on C2 power brake cars. Does anyone know it this is the case and why?

Yes, this is (was) the case. The booster positions the pedel at the correct return location. Having a spring in place will not cause any difficulties, however. I believe John Z. posted that it was likely that many p/b cars were erroneously assembled with a return spring by not following AIM closely. -

Jeff Ok thank you I thought I saw this somewhere, seems strange but the vacuum booster must provide all the pressure needed to position the pedal. Is this si judged item?Comment
