Anybody ever build a motor for use in a C1 with a Cloyes double roller timing chain set?
Reason I ask is that I'm wondering how the thickness of the double sprocket on the crank is going to affect how far the harmonic balancer goes onto the crank. This will affect the alignment of the belt pulleys. I just got my motor back from the shop. I'm to assemble the rest of it. I have not as yet installed the harmonic balancer. But the timing chain cover fits just fine.
I thought the special C1 washer properly spaced the position of the balancer on the crankshaft so that the pulleys lined up. Now that the crankshaft double sprocket protrudes more than the stock one, won't that throw all the spacing off?
