C3 headlight inserts in grille

On my '70 - I can't find any picture or reference to the black partitions that are located between the headlights and the grille? (see pic) My friend's '71 does not have them, so I was wondering when the started/stopped using them AND what is the name of them? I scanned the parts catalog and don't see them in the diagrams, either. (I know, I'm missing a screw or two on the grille, also)

The pieces you are looking for are called headlamp shields and are available from Paragon and Dr. Rebuild. 1968- early '69 is one design and L'69 to '72 is another. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I did see them in the Paragon catalog after you mentioned that. Do you know if they were a factory item; and did all Corvette from '68-72 have them?

I agree. And, I'll add this: the absence of them on any 68-72 may be a "clue" that the car has previously had major front end damage and repair. These are one of those items that easily get "forgotten" or "overlooked" when the new front end parts are installed. There's really very little other reason for them to be absent.
