65 bolts

Anyone know the correct bolts that hold the spare tire tub up ,i ordered some from paragon and they gave me LG,headmark plated ,the jg calls for black phosphate anyone know for sure, also on a 365 hp idler pulley is the big stud between the waterpump and pulley plated or black phosphate .thanks fellas. jim

Jim,
The spare tire tub bolts are 5/16x24x1/2" with a recessed head. My original bolts do not have a headstamp. The finish is gone, so I can't help with that part of your question. There are also four flat washers used in conjunction with the bolts to secure the tire tub.

The bolts we removed from our '65 are cad plated.

Those are the same (self-tapping) bolts used on the fuel line-to-frame clamps in '65, and on both the fuel and brake line clamps in '67.
