When I purchased my car (a Cleveland area car all it's life) I found out that the guy who did all the mechanical work on it from the mid sixties through ther mid nineties was a guy named Bob Ruth. I met Bob a couple of times in the late 90's and talked about the car with him, etc. Bob worked exclusively on Corvettes for "over 30 years" according to what he told me, and he had a booth at Carlisle for several years (I believe his specialty in that regard was distributors) so I assume folks in the hobby would be familiar with him. Anyone have any info on how Bob is doing and how I might get ahold of him?

Re: Bob Ruth - Mike
Mike, Bob Ruth's name is vaguely familar to early '60's racing in the northeast. I recall Bob loaning us some needed FI gaskets at the track.. He had to go out of his way to get them to us in time to get the FI back together. The SCCA racer I was pit crewing for was named Ed Smith of Pgh, Pa. The tack most likely was the Dunkirk, OH air port circuit or possibly Cumberland, MD year about '62. I remembe r Bob as a very helpful race competitor. Never knew him beyond this one experience. Can't answer your questions about him, sorry Regards.- Top
