I've been adjusting the fit of the hood on my car. It's not the easiest thing to do. It looks like I can't have everything aligned just right, so I'm doing it to please my eye. I was wondering what the priority was at the factory...did they attempt to have the gap even left to right, front to back, all the way around, etc., and accepted what ever resulted as far as alignment of the buldge in the hood with the top surround. My hood is original and undamaged as is the body itself.
The figures are shown in the assembly manual. Side clearances could have been anywhere from .06 to .20, with the sides equal within .06. Front of hood from .10 to .14. No spec. given for the rear. Just how well they held to this is debatable.
