    Seat Belt Buckles 1962 ?

I have just secured a set of seat belt buckles. On the back of the buckle is a stamping (PRS) [CS]{the C is over the S} 5000B. In the drawings of buckles for 61 & 62 there is no information about (PRC) and the CS is on a diagonal in a rectangular box and there is no "B" next to the 5000. The patent and NOS numbers are the same as the JG. Are these Corvette buckles, if so, what would be the earliest documented car to have been equipped with these buckles?

    Thanks for any help!

    Ray--
As the one who wrote the seat belt article for the Restorer many moons ago, and as one who has been looking at belts in 62's for some 33 years, I haven't seen that variation. That's not to say they can't be, but you'd have a tough time proving to a judge that they are correct at this point in the game.

      Mike, Thanks for the reply

I found this picture in the archieves. Any idea what they were used in.

I bought an NOS set of seat belts for my '61 and had them judged in Florida. The only markings on them is U.S. PATENT 2,458,810.

They look very similar to belts I saw a few years ago in a "Charter Passenger Plane". At first glance they appeared like `62s.

61-type belts were only used very early 62--then several different types subsequent to that. Check the judging guide or the Restorer CD---61 should not be a model for how 62 belts should be, other than up to around SN 2000.
