    C1 front suspension experts

My '62 had front coils that made the car sit way to high. I like the look with earlier HD coils, so I had a new pair made by Coil Spring Specialties that are one inch lower than the standard '62 coil.
As you can see in the snap, the top of the tire is now even with the top of the wheel opening.
I have to go for an alignment, will I have caster and camber issues with the shorter coils? I understand that I can add another caster plate if needed, anything I can do if the camber won't fall within spec?

    Thanks,
    Paul

It's depressing, that's what it is Don!

We just got another fast and furious 6" of heavy sloppy crap to deal with this A.M. in my neck of the woods.

I think I'll convert the front spindles to skis and the rears to tracks

That picture was taken a few weeks ago and I thought we were done! Then today like Chuck, we got about another six slushy inches!!!

I doubt that you will have any problem with only 1 inch shorter coils. Most old coils sag that much.

Do you have a shop that has experience on these old front ends? Most front end mechanics today have never seen suspension like this and have no idea how to adjust it.

To echo that concern, you might need to check their work. I took my Mustang in 1 1/2 years ago for an alignment. After about 1 year, a 0.5" bolt holding the upper control arm on the left side snapped. It looks like it had been worn from the outside due to being loose. I checked the other side and it was loose. This winter I added disc brakes and new spindles and took it to a different alignment shop. Just for grins, I check the torque on the control arm bolts. Sure enough, they had not torqued them either.
