    Winter accesories

For you members that live in the winter wonderland how about having snow wipers or the "Carter" engine heater or a GM battery heater, these are real GM accessories for your Corvette C1 to C2 . Nice to have installed when you go see your friends driving in the snow with your Corvette but bring along a vary long extension cord to plug in at his house/

PS inside the wiper rubber shield is the original wiper design for C1

And yes I have them in my 55 Corvette it snows here also .

    Roy,

Great items again. Where did the engine block heater fit into, a freeze plug? What engine is it on, V8 or 6cyl?

My V8 engine on the side . replaces a freeze plug , 53-54 6-banger had them also. Dealers back East still sell engine heaters for all make cars.

I also for got to include GM accessory "tire tracks " I carry in the trunk when we drive to Reno in the winter. They extend to three feet to help get you un-stuck in mud or snow. GM offered so many neat accessories back in the early days you don't ever see any more.
Yes I know many NCRS guys think I'm crazy , but I've used most or some accessories I carry, we've been around this country many times driving the 55 Corvette and they have saved us or made the trip more enjoyable. Remember I restored our 55 to use, not to just look at.

            Joe,

You have some of the most interesting accessories I(and I'd bet others) have ever seen. Thanks for sharing. You should consider submiting an article to the Restorer, with your entire collection of accessories and descriptions for the entire membership to see. I'd certainly look forward to it.

              Rich,

An article about Roy's collection would take up the whole Restorer Magazine.

Re: Winter accesories "rich" get real

Your talking NCRS here ! Just factory out the door Corvettes , not a dealer sold Corvette that may have added GM accessories .Only a few people like you guys ask about my accessories and would care . NCRS "is" the only club in the world that don't recognize accessories on a Corvette. No other car club does!
I post these just for your amusement! (I'm surprised they are not deleted) you cant add them in your Corvette and be a loyal NCRS member and have your Corvette judged!!!
So it makes no sense to do an article in the restorer.

The National Corvette Restorers Society Mission
Formed in 1974, the National Corvette Restorers Society is a non-profit hobby group of 15,000+ families dedicated to the restoration, preservation, history and "enjoyment" of Corvettes made from the model years 1953 through 1991.

I'd say the 4th item of dedication applies. Sure seems like it's "ENJOYMENT" to me.
