I'm trying to remove the crossmember above the differential. I have it all unbolted. It still seems tight. Though I'd ask for help. I don't want to screw -up

They're always tight and hard to remove. You will need to get a LONG, STOUT pry bar wedged between the fixed crossmember and the removable one. Then, using a lot of leverage, pry down on the removable crossmember. It may take a LOT of effort. Might even take more than one guy.
First, though, you want to install longer bolts through the cushion mounts (where you've already removed the bolts). This will prevent the whole assembly from dropping to the floor when it does brake free.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Crossmember
As Joe has explained, thread in the longer bolts to catch the member when it drops, plow a good quantity of PB Blaster or similar spray lubricat around where the the sombrero slides into the cushion, and then start prying with the long bar.
Just keep working the bar up and down, this will allow the lube to work down between the cushion and the sombrero. If it still hasn't given it up after a few minutes, repeat the application of lube to the cushion. It WILL give it up.
My original rust belt 68 crossmember only took me about ten minutes to have it on the floor.
Just as soon as you get it out from under the car, wipe the excess lubricant out of the cushion so it doesn't potentially degrade it.
