    69 Winshiled Washer Question

    I have a February 1969 with windshield and headlight washers. On the passenger side of the pump there is a three port valve. On the driver side there is another valve that is in bad shape which is supplied from the three port valve. All of the ports are capped or they are conveying water from the three port to the other valve. When I turned the washer on the other valve shot water out of the front via a hole. No nipple here, or at least there is one now.

    Question: Do I have a three or five port washer?

    Question: Can I obtain a replacement for the valve on the drivers side? What is it, what is it called?

    Question: Where can I get some good drawings, etc. that will assist me?

    Erv-----

    1) You have a a 3 port valve application. The "splitter" solenoid valve that you require is what allows the connections to the headlamp washers. In the 70-71 5 port configuration, no "splitter" valve is used or required. The "splitter" valve is unique to 1969 Corvettes;

    2) For many years there was no replacement available for the 1969-only solenoid "splitter" valve. However, I believe that there is now a reproduction available on the market. However, I've forgotten the source. I would imagine that most of the Corvette suppliers would have it soon, if not already;

    3) Other than the illustrations shown in the Chevrolet Service Manual and AIM, I don't know.

      Thr AIM and Chevrolet Service Manual do not show specific drawings of the hose connection to the 3 port or splitter valve. Does anyone have a good drawing?

        The part you are looking for is available thru Paragon reproductions. I think the cost is about $180.00. You can also find other suppliers on e-bay.

          Re: 69 Winshiled Washer Question

          I spoke with Chris at Paragon's tech line. They do not have the part but will check their rebuilders and get back to me in a few days.

          If anyone has a source for these parts please help.

          Thanks,

          Erv

            Erv,

            Unless I'm thinking of a different part, Paragon lists it as item 12371 for $190.00. It's the solenoid for the headlight washer anti-drip. You can check there web site or use this url.

              I do believe that is the animal.
