Re: tips on aligning C2 hood needed
no issue just, figured there was an easier method than trial and error to get just right. there is play in upper and lower hinge pads. did not know if you lock 1 set and adjust with the other or keep adjusting all to you get the right fit.- Top

Re: tips on aligning C2 hood needed
Bill: I always start with the lower hinge plates & position them centered over the bolt holes. Make sure they're not cocked inboard or outboard. Then tighten the upper plates, again centered with respect to the holes in the hood. This gives you a "nominal" setting and helps guide you in making fore/aft & side to side adjustments. Couple of tips to save your paint: cover the edge of your hood with blue painters tape and have a helper watch the forward gap as you lower the hood --to make sure there IS a gap.
If you're putting the car back together and have the grille out, you can install the hood with the bolts loose and go in through the grille opening and tighten the bolts with your gaps set exactly as you want. I use bondo spreaders as gap spacers.- Top
