    accessories

OK I do smoke now and then ,so I added the Trico automatic cigarette lighter,(AC also made one) you set it in ,then push the chrome ring , when it's lit, it pops out and your ready to smoke ( no need to use my NOS Vett lighter )
Now after your done smoking , you set the cigarette in the chrome spoon (lit) press the little lever and it sucks it down into a ( vacuum bottle) located behind my drivers kick panel . It's called a flamless ashtray sold by GM as a dealer accessory , The bottle puts the cig. out for you being a vacuum (no air)

When the ashtray was offered probably about $10.00 , now if you ever find one they go for over $1,000 if you have a Chevy accessory book it shows it. There were even after market companies that copied it to sell to other make car owners.
"That's unbelievable" is what many people say when I show my accessories off, but in the 40's and 50's car makers had unbelievable accessory AND options.

I had a 56 Chevy Convertible with a vary vary rare automatic rain sensor , if one drop of water hit the contact the car raised the top and closed by it's self. You have no idea the fantastic accessories GM offered that I had or have. To Chevy guys not one part on a Corvette is near what this thing is worth.
There are cars out there with options and accessories worth more then any Corvette NCRS top flights. That's why I love all old cars and not just a Corvette funatic.

That's another one I have never heard of. If it worked I wonder why the new bie engineer's don't have it available for today's convertible's? They have all the other creature comfort's ( I.E. seat and os mirror heater's, seat memory and such). I think that would be a popular option.

          Roy,

"That's unbelievable" is right. That's what I said to myself when I saw it, then read your next post.

The rain sensor is great too. But my wife asks, what if you're going down the highway and it gets activated? Does the top go up or there an over-ride to stop it?
