    63 SWC emblems

I have a 63 SWC. Down to buying the last few items.
When buying the typical emblems, door knobs, window cranks, tail lights and frt turn signal lights, which Vendor has the best after market reproductions ?
Or do they buy from the same manufactures ?
I do buy most of my other parts from Paragon. Just wondered, if there is a preference as to to the above mentioned items. This is not a price issue, since they are all pretty close between the individual vendors...

most of the emblems are reproduced by TRIM PARTS and that who supplies the Paragons, etc.

Rainer, Be careful buying the fender emblems-flags on your 63. The original 158's were orangish instead of the typical replacements which are redish-burgundy. The other side of the 158 is a cream color and not the typical white you see. My 63 lost a point or so for the fender emblems because they were NOS GM replacements. Wrong colors. Also the original posts were not plated but black on the ends. Repros are pretty but not correct.
Maybe Harry Sadlock can post a nice pic of a '158 as he certainly looks for them at the shows. Jorjorian and Hanson are quite knowledgeable on those emblems too. They helped me get the correct ones for my car. The nose emblem is a science in itself. Today's repro nose emblems are much better than the old repros. Good luck, John

When buying Trim Parts from one of the part houses, be sure to ask where they are purchasing their inventory from. I purchased my trim parts from one part house and have always received Trim Parts. On the 63 they sent me imported parking lights and the quality was very poor.

also on the fender emblems, figure out which style you need for your car. there are two versions, thick and thin. early '63s had the '62 type thin and later had the thick type, I don't know the date of the change.

As I recall, the thin version on a 63 is a myth.

agree with Harry - every ORIGINAL I have examined in the last five years or so have ALL been the thick ones

Thx Harry....I was not aware of this myth. I guess I might as well try to sell my NOS thin ones on Ebay....Regards Frank
