1969 SB PCV grommet

My 1969 350/300 had chrome valve covers when I bought it, with a set of orange-painted steel ones that I believe are the original. I repainted the steel covers and put them on, but the grommets for the PCV and vents were too big. The holes on the chrome covers are about an inch and a quarter, the holes in the steel covers are an inch.

Which one of these is correct? This car has had a lot of after-market stuff put on and I'm trying to move it back to original. I'm not sure whether I just need new grommets (none of the suppliers give any dimensions on theirs) or new elbows, or the steel valve covers are wrong.

The 1" holes are correct. You require grommets currently known as GM #14091870. They are still available from GM for a current list price of $2.74/each. The original grommets, GM #3923256, were configured slightly different, but the 14091870 will function perfectly.

The connector pipe (elbow) should fit the above-referenced grommets. If it doesn't, then you need a GM #3923260. This is the original part number and it's still available from GM for $9.67/ea GM list.
