Looking at a couple of different sets of "Corvette" PO2 wheel covers. Some look correct with a center cap that projects out form the cap, others have a flush center that seems wrong. Aside from the projected .vs. flush, is the rest of the wheel cover the same??? Is there a re-pop on the entire cover and/or the correct center cap???

Re: C3 PO2 Wheel Covers
No repop on the wheel cover that I know of. The assembly minus the cap is the same. The do reproduce the center emblem (Trim parts I believe makes them). But, there are some small differences (very small) that I have noticed. Also note that if you mix and match pieces, you should rebalance them. They have small metal clips around the back edge the factory used for balancing purposes. They are heavy and they must effect balance of the wheel to some degree. For looks, I would not worry about it. Terry- Top

I believe the difference you are seeing in the length of the protrusion of the ornament is the difference between P01 and P02 styles.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: C3 PO2 Wheel Covers
I believe the only difference is in the ornament. Similar Wheel Covers that will interchange ornaments were used on some chevy pass cars, Monte Carlo, Buicks, and possibly some others, the later pass car is listed in Hollanders as being different than Corvette, and from the picture is not as deep..Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: C3 PO2 Wheel Covers
I have seen the flat ones and I have seen the ones that stick out about 1/2 way, and I have seen the ones that stick out all the way.
I have also seen a really weird flat one that was claimed to be 68. I have also seen early pictures of 68 with POsomethings on it that were totally unlike anything I have ever seen. So, I am totally confused. The only thing I know is PO2's. I am still waiting on good PO1 information and early 68 caps. Terry- Top

Re: C3 PO2 Wheel Covers
Bill, Terry, et al,
I have the original set of PO2 wheelcovers that came on my '69 and another set that fit 14" wheels. The smaller set has an almost flat emblem which, I initially thought, was like the PO1s for 1968. However, since they fit a 14" wheel, they are definitely from a Chevrolet passenger car, not any Corvette. If memory serves me correctly, the emblems are identical. From my research, the PO1s have spokes that more fully engage the center whereas the PO2's spokes stop short of the center ring and blend into a collar prior to reaching the center protruding ring with the emblem. When I get home tonight, I'll try to post photos of both. Maybe someone could help me identify the 14" wheelcovers and to which cars they belong.

Re: What years of Monte Carlo, Dickie?
14 inch used on 70-72 Chevelle, 71-72 Camaro, and '71-72 Nova. 15 inch were late '69-73 Chevy full size and '71-72 Monte Carlo, 15 inch, but not same as Corvette. "66 Riviera has a similar configuration also.Bill Clupper #618- Top
