1966 hood emblem

Hey, guys. I took babyblue out for a spin today, she is a very good driver, a 1966 327/350 convertible, blue with black interior. I noticed the metal Corvette Sting Ray hood emblem was loose. I pulled it out of five holes, and noted five pins on the back. The center pin has spiral grooves on it. Thus my questions; is there a clamp that has fallen off?, and where to find it? and how hard to reapply said clamp? Thank you for your help. Rich Weddle

It should have speed nuts to attach the emblem. They are available through any of the catalogs.

THe emblem should have speed nuts on it but alot of guys leave them off so you can easly remove the emblem for cleaning and waxing.

But at least one of us (me) forgot when driving away. The result was a flying nose emblem (which dented the stainless at the top of the windshield).

We where talking about the hood emblem not the nose emblem. I too lost a nose emblem at 60 plus, now my nose emblem is held in place with strip calk.
