    Nassau Blue Lacquor Paint

I am restoring a my 65 Nassau Blue Coupe -

I am looking for a good place to by paint and someone who can mix paint to exact color match.

1 Need one quart of Dupont 9223LM wiht 2oz per pint of DuPont No. 4528 Flatting compound in unreduced color to give me color and gloss.

2 Need two gallon of Nassau Blue exterior
    DuPont 4690-L, Rinshed Mason A1747, Ditzler DDL3364.

These have not been generally available for years.
I need an exact match as color and metalic.

I have viewed a lot of work and except for one or two shops that cost $20,000 + body work most were not good enough in color and metalic.

I talked to an old guy who is a good body man and knows how to paint to paint it just like the General did it. A little orange peal along the bottom edge and not too much paint along the bottom of the rear fenders. He threw me out of his shop. Two weeks later he called me up and said he would like to do one exactly like the factory - he remembered more than I care to repeat here.

So we are getting set up to finish off the body. Its stripped and clean.

I ran into a similar problem when having my 72LT-1 repainted. I opted for PPG after looking for Dupont and coming up empty handed. I was of the understanding that Laquers do not have an extremely long shelf life. In most cases, manufacturing has ceased. In the end, the color match between factory and the PPG was really great. A factory paint sample was sent to the paint distributor (which seemed invaluable). I will be doing the same on my Nassau Blue 65 L-84 roadster.

I did my 65 roadster in ppg and the color is perfect as original.
