AC GF 124 Gasoline Filter

My 1961 270HP had a Carter fuel filter system on it. I purchased and original AC flat top filter housing and bowl. I also purchased the correct GF 124 filter element. Is the exterior diameter of the element the same size as the interior of the bowl?

Very close. Did you get a paper GF 124 (current version) or a NOS version (red magic material)

NOS version (red magic material) and the gasket seemed to be to big to fit inside the housing. I purchased a paper type and used the gasket as a template and cut the gasket that came with the AC 124 filter. I doubled the gasket and no leaks.
