Any suggestions who does a pretty good job on sleeving master cylinders and wheel clyinders. I've heard brass and stainless , any pro's or con's here. Any one had any problems with there resleeved cylinders. I've got a full set of originals for my 60 I want to get done. Thanks Jerry

Re: Resleeve Wheel Cylinders C1 1960
Jerry,
Apple Hydraulics and White Post have both done sleeves for me, and both did a nice job with a quick turn-around. I personally prefer brass to stainless, as I think that it it seals better due to it's softer surface. Stainless is harder, and can wear aginst the seals more. Any sleeve you choose will be a lifetime job given the car that these cars get now.

An old question that's been been discussed many times before. Search the archives for master cylinder restoration and you'll find prior threads along with recommendations on several rebuilders. Any who do master cylinders will also do slave cylinders.
Most shops charge more for SS sleeves because it's more expensive than brass. Some think SS is much better because it's less prone to pitting and rust, but a traditional brass sleeve job will probably outlive your use of the car (and maybe you too)!- Top
