If the assy. date (eg. P0106) is stamped onto the lower right corner of the shifter side cover machined flange on the maincase, it's a 1964 model, which sort of corresponds with the "429" tail extension. Probably on a car that was produced around mid-January '64, if production was at the same rate as in the 1965 model year. A good Chevelle site would be able to give you month-end '64 VINs.
