    63 tail lights

I am ready to purchase replacement tail lights and front turn signal/parking lamps. Is there a big difference between the USA made units and off-shore made units (Taiwan etc) ? I heard, that I should stay away from the off-shore made ones, to buy USA made units. Are there different US made lights ? Or are all US made units made by Trim Parts ? (I did notice that Trim Parts emblems are better quality, than emblems made by "other" manufacturers).
I saw (2) different rear lights offered on Ebay right now for around $230 a set and $90 for front sets. That's compared to $280 and $130 respectively from Paragon and others.
The two different tail lights offered on Ebay right now are Trim Parts, the other US made. Both are suppose to be new, not used. Not sure about the manufacturer of the front parking lights.
I hate to return stuff, if I am not happy with the quality. I don't mind paying premium , if that is the only way to get the best reproduction, but don't mind to save almost $100.00 in this case...
    Any coments ?

Stay with made in the USA. Trim parts has a great product, but you might want to ask where Paragon gets theirs. If it is from Trim Parts you get a 10% discount at Paragon for NCRS membership.

The repro front turn signal/parking lights are not correct for 63. 63's have the rubber boot on the back, not the exposed copper/brass connector.

Also, depending on your VIN, early 63's don't have the boss on the back for the lens screw...leaving the screw exposed. Late 63's have the boss (as do all others). Chuck

I definetively have the original, early 63 front parking lights, but they are slightly pitted. Mine have the thu holes and the the correct wire boot. I am considdering to have them re-chromed, but that would be more expensive than the best, new reproduction ones.(Trim Parts wants $93/ea) Pot metal is expensice to re-chrome, just had my door handles re-chromed by Fini in Warren, Mi. (Forgot what they qouted me on the frt. sign. lights, but is was more than 100/piece).
I may still go the re-chrome that route, just have not figured-out, how to get the wires and socket assy out, so the housing can be re-chromed...
