    67 Bright Blue Color Quiz

I just bought a new set of mats for my 67. THey are a different color that my interior and my old mats. I have conflicting evidence on which is correct. Can anyone offer an opinion? (my first attempt a picture post...)

Looks like I need help with MORE than just the color question...

I followed the recommendations in the NCRS "Help" section on posting a photo. Uploaded it to the ofoto website (now kodakgallery.com) and shared it to all. When I load the URL into a browser (cpied when I was viewing the picture) it comes up - but is not doing so on the NCRS site?

No Pic. but are you talking about age and sun fading? You may (or may not) be surprised how fast the sun changes colors of things. My 61 jewel blue carpet from 2001 is now gray (except under the mats, where it is still blue):)

OK, Kodak didn;t work out so well - admin may want to consider an update to the "Help" section regarding picture posts. Here goes with photobucket....

The new one is definitely too much Royal Blue. But most carpets today are too light. The original carpets are pretty dark.

High Wayne. Let me see if I have this right...

You seem to be saying the "Sting Ray" is too dark - but that most carpets today are too light (which is what the "corvette" mat seems to match - being an identical match to two recarpeted midyears I have owned).

If I follow this logic - would this mean that the "Sting Ray" is closest to correct of the 2?

                Glenn,

Could it be that they have finally reproduced the correct color carpet for 1967??? My '67 is a Marina Blue exterior with white/blue interior. My carpet came from AK about 13 1/2 years ago and was the bright (silvery) blue more like the carpet mat on the picture's left. The original carpet I removed was a MEDIUM blue closer to the mat on the picture's right. When, and if, I ever replace the carpet again, I will search for the correct medium blue reproducion carpet similar to what ACC had 14 years ago.

                Regards,
                Kent Keech

Considering that both are not an original-type mat, why is it an issue?

The one looks too faded, like the carpet does after several years if driven. The other too dark, or too blue.

A very simple and free (no registration required) web host is tinypic.com where you simply upload the picture from your computer, copy the IMG URL, and paste in most forums.

When posting here, you have to remove the [IMG stuff so that you have only the URL and not the tagging.

Do not use their email link. It is simply a link to the page where the picture is, not a link to the picture.

                      Chris

You are correct - the mats are aftermarket items that did not exist in 67. Since I drive my car - I use the mats for protection, take them out for NCRS purposes.

The real objective of my post was to determine whether my interior carpet was the right color. My carpet matched the left hand mat and I had previously believed it was the correct color. After some discussion with the vendor of the right hand side mat I was questioning whether my interior should look more like that?

The view so far seems to be that they are both "incorrect" with "correct" being somewhere in between.
