My long-awaited redline tires arrived today. I have aluminum bolt-on wheels. Can I jack up the car at the middle crossmember to remove two tires at once? Or, do I need to remove the wheels one at a time using the recommended jacking points? I know I could just take everything to the tire store at one time, but I don't trust leaving it there and hoping for the best. Also, what is the torque for the wheels? The one I took off seemed really loose. Thanks.

Re: C2 tire replacement
Jacking one side of my SWC at the intersection of the center cross member and longitudinal rail never caused any problems, BUT being as how the SWC's birdcage is bolted to the frame without cushions, it is by far the stiffest C2 extant.
I'm not sure about a convert., but don't open the doors.
I use anti-seize compound on wheel studs and 80 lb-ft. tightening torque. Use a "star pattern" to torque, which is effectively torquing every other nut from the first, and I always count 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 clicks, and don't let anyone interrupt you during this critical process.
The anti-seize helps the nuts torque up evenly and develop consistent clamping force. It doesn't take that much force on a typical 150 lb-ft rachet type torque wrench to tighten or loosen, and once loose the nuts spin off easily with your fingers or a speed handle.
If you hear any "squeaking" during the tightening or loosening process, slick-slip friction is occurring, which can gall threads and results in questionable clamping force for a given amount of applied torque.

Thanks, Duke--good advice. To be on the safe side, I'm going to take them off one at a time. I also appreciate the torque advice; I have only one wheel off, and I estimate it had about 40 lbs. of torque (an accident waiting to happen).- Top
