How or where can I find the period of production for the Good Year Eagle GS series? This would be in the P255/60R15 series and no longer produced. I've got a date code of 331 and attempting to narrow it down to either 1981 or 1991 and I suspect its the 1991 date.

I don't know what the exact manufacturing period for the various Goodyear GS was. However, I don't think that they were being produced anywhere near 1981, but the were definitely being manufactured in 1991.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Good Year Eagle GS
If it's the same tire that Tom is referring to, the Goodyear GS-C debuted with the model year 1992 Corvette. The Goodyear Gatorbacks were used from 1984 through 1991.

Re: Good Year Eagle GS
After reviewing my "tire" files, I believe 1991 is the correct year. The DOT was moved from the top of the TIN to the left side sometime after 1982 according to the photos I have. Plus, I believe the factory (tire) went to a standard impression followed by two gangs (plates) that could be changed out one of which was the date code. I don't think tire manufacturers (GY) were doing this in 1981.Tom Russo

Patrick-----
There were several "GS" series tires; the GS-C was one of them. There was also the GS-A and GS-D. There may have been others, too. I don't think that the production period for all was the same.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Good Year Eagle GS
Actually many of those in the GS series are in production today but as JL points out they fall in the GS-X series. The GA was involved in the SUV rollover studies from 2001Tom Russo

Goodrich P255/60R15
Last Saturday, I acquired a set of American Racing wheels and tires off of a 61 Vette. The rears are Goodrich P255/60R15 on 15-7 wheels. I was wondering if these will fit on my 64 coupe without any modifications? As always, thanks in advance.- Top
