Different JG's say different things - the '65 JG says they weren't painted, and the '67 JG says they were. I had two '65 L-79's, one bought brand new and one bought two years later, and neither one of them had the intake painted.
lee, i hear brake clean is what some pros use to clean a manifold, i have 2 BB manifolds i will try it on soon. in reguards to paint our sherwin williams has it on the shelf as well as aubachons, which is a NE hard ware chain. also advanced auto has it. i have always used Krylon products when i can and never have been dissapointed. bill
