    C2 Stering Box Parts

I'm considering a rebuild of my 66 non power steering box and would like to know where to get a bebuild kit. It appears that LIC no longer has the parts.

    Regards,
    Dave K.

        Dave,
You just had that car judged after an extensive rebuild and resto and NOW you want to tear into the steering. Go drive that sucker somewhere!

          Gary,

Have some play in the steering. I just wanted a source for parts if I can't adjust the play out. Prepping for PV next.

Play in the box usually comes from a couple of areas.
1- incorrect adjustment- causing wear on center and wrecking the gears
2- lash screw gap incorrect- can be shimmed with the shims in the kits
3- sloppy bushings. The original bushings have about .010" sideplay in them. The kit bushings will cut that to about .005. I machine and fit bushings to .002-.0025 to give the best fit. If you have access to a lathe you can do the same or just use the kit bushings. I think we all sell the same kits as well. You'll need to get a new pitman arm washer and nut as well.
