    FI Distributor pn help!

Can not find numbers in my P&A book for two FI distributors. Any one know the story behind these?

1110916 date code 7K17 it also has another oil tube next to the vacuum advance can.
Sounds like this is a 1957 part? (Now if I can get the rest of the car. . . .)

1112003 or 2063 date code 3M14 which I assume belongs with my 63 FI unit. However what is the correct number? It is an over stamp.

    Thanks Alan

    Re: FI Distributor pn help!

063 would work on a '63 FI car, I can't help with the 916, other than it shows in the spec listing from Delco remy as being a valid Distributor number for a dual point non vacuum advance distributor.

      Re: FI Distributor pn help!

Alan, Check the 916 again. AS you can see it's a 57 distributor 7K17. I believe the 916 is actually a 906 which is aa 57 low HP single points-hex vacuum advance. Some day I predict that the rarest FI distributor of all will be this 906 because so many of them are being converted into fake 905's.
Clupper is correct of course on the 063. It's an oddball distributor that was only used on the early 64's. Actually it was a mismatch for the engine and RP and Chevy discovered this quickly and came out with the 070. I say oldball because the 063 has the cam, weights, and springs, for a Duntov 097 cam. Course you know that the 64 FI car used the 30-30. One good thing though is the 063 does have the 30-30 vacuum advance.. If a guy owns one the best thing to do is at least upgrade the weights and springs for the proper cam and then his engine will run better. Been there for sure. John

Re: FI Distributor mistake its 615

Sorry missed the correct #, must be age!
1110915 date 7K17 The 915 is very clear (now its in the light). This is the one with an extra oil tube next to vac can which is number MS 201 15

The 063 was on a 375FI unit (serial 3548) with a wobble pump! So this must be one of the last FI in 64 using the 375 unit, it also has the vac advance tab held on by the rear screw of the doghouse and no oil breather fitting or boss on front of doghouse.

        Thanks for Info

Alan, You trying to confuse me??? Easy to do. You have a low HP 57 to 61 FI distributor with an incorrect vac. adv. The VA should be a hex shaped one that I believe is stamped 134. But the 201 15 is a good vacuum advance for a 63, etc. All the 915 distributors were dated 1957. See you JM for this info.
No wobble pump was used on a 375 unit as late as 3548. Thank God.
Anyhow the plenum sounds correct for a 63-early 64 unit. Good luck on finding a gear pump. There are no parts available to rebuild those pumps except for a seal. Even the shaft is different that a gear pump. It's a tad longer. John
